Senior Backend Engineer (Python), Agent Developer: Flow Components

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python), Agent Developer: Flow Components to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building and maintaining backend capabilities that support agentic workflow experiences and AI-enabled platform features.

You will partner closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements, deliver improvements, and strengthen the developer and customer experience.

The position also includes API design, testing, production support, and knowledge sharing to help advance responsible AI practices across the engineering organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain flow registry features for workflow services and the backend platform.
• Collaborate across disciplines to refine project requirements and deliver improvements.
• Design and review REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring clarity and compatibility with frontend clients.
• Enhance automated testing to improve quality and developer feedback mechanisms.
• Share best practices and knowledge with engineers to support responsible AI use.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Monitor competitive trends to maintain market presence in agentic platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production Python applications with LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience integrating artificial intelligence features into backend systems with a focus on responsible use of large language models.
• Proficient in designing REST and GraphQL APIs for performance and maintainability.
• Strong SQL skills with proficiency in PostgreSQL for effective data modeling and querying.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and frontend development principles, particularly in Vue.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation in a remote setting.
• Openness to learn and adapt skills across different technologies.
