Job Description At DEVIX Technologies , we are looking for an experienced Python Backend Engineer to join a high-velocity engineering team building an AI-native SaaS platform . Our client is a venture-backed product company with a Prague-based engineering hub.

The role focuses on automated data acquisition pipelines that ingest large volumes of publicly available content from heterogeneous web sources — a critical foundation of the product. The team uses AI-assisted code generation extensively: scrapers, fixtures, and unit tests are bootstrapped by LLM agents, and your job is to validate, refine, and ship the resulting code into production.

You will collaborate closely with DEVIX engineers and the client’s internal team to keep the data pipeline reliable, observable, and continuously expanding to cover new sources.

This is a 3-month engagement with strong likelihood of extension up to 6 months (month-by-month billing). The engagement starts with two weeks onsite in Prague for onboarding, then transitions to a flexible hybrid setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate LLM-generated Python scraping code against specification (ticket + design doc), correct it, and submit PRs source by source.
• Review auto-generated test data, unit tests, and event payloads for correctness and structural integrity.
• Diagnose and fix scraping failures caused by upstream site changes, anti-bot countermeasures, geolocation blocks, or rate limits.
• Work with proxy and residential proxy infrastructure to maintain reliable access.
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and overall pipeline observability.
• Pair with senior engineers on edge cases, refactors, and tooling improvements.

What We Expect

• 3+ years of professional backend experience with Python.
• Hands-on experience with web scraping at meaningful scale — HTTP request patterns, parsing, retries, anti-bot mitigations (proxies, IP rotation, sessions, basic fingerprinting awareness).
• Solid working knowledge of at least one Python web framework (FastAPI, Flask, or similar).
• Comfortable with an AI-assisted development workflow — reading, validating, and refining LLM-generated code.
• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Pragmatic approach to testing — knows when a unit test adds value and when it doesn’t.
• Fluent English — daily communication is in English.
• Based in Czechia, ideally Prague — first two weeks onsite in Prague for onboarding, then flexible hybrid.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Playwright or Selenium for JS-heavy sites.
• Background in data engineering, ETL pipelines, or content-heavy SaaS.
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar LLM tooling.
• Awareness of structured data ingestion patterns (RSS, sitemaps, APIs as scraping alternatives).
