Senior Backend Java/Azure

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience with Java , with strong knowledge of modern Java versions, particularly Java 17 and 21 .
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and familiarity with related Spring technologies such as Spring Cloud and Spring Data.
• Solid knowledge of Microservices, Web Services, SOA and API design .
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL Federation .
• Professional experience with Azure Cloud .
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform .
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace or equivalent .
• Experience with Gradle and modern software build practices.
• Strong knowledge of unit testing, integration testing and TDD .
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB and MySQL .
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus or equivalent ALM/DevOps tools .
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns , with the ability to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies , including Scrum/Kanban, User Stories, BDD/TDD, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and Pair Programming.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, from development through deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
• Fluency in English .
• Kotlin experience is considered a plus for some projects.
• Experience with e-commerce/retail and/or Product Information Management / Master Data Management platforms such as Stibo STEP is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver scalable Java backend solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Participate across the full software delivery lifecycle, from solution design and development to deployment, monitoring and maintenance .
• Take ownership of code quality and technical solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Design and implement microservices, APIs and distributed systems .
• Develop and maintain integrations using REST, GraphQL Federation and Kafka .
• Work with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform to build and operate cloud-native solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues , identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making , ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with business needs.
• Challenge and refine business requirements when necessary to ensure the best technical and business outcomes.
• Implement automated testing, including unit, integration and TDD practices .
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and continuous delivery .
• Implement and improve monitoring, observability and application performance .
• Mentor and support other developers, sharing technical knowledge, experience and best practices.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and engineering practices where they provide measurable business value.
• Contribute to the evolution of the team's technical roadmap and architecture .
• Participate in technical interviews and support the assessment of engineering candidates.
• Work collaboratively within an Agile, self-organised and cross-functional team .
