Senior Backend Software Engineer- Core Services

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer- Core Services to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $155,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Implement changes to API and SDK for better server/client communication
• Introduce code patterns and tools to enhance developer ergonomics
• Identify and rectify inefficiencies in the backend codebase
• Design and redesign critical system parts for scalability
• Share best practices with other engineers
• Collaborate on critical architectural decisions with team members
• Investigate challenges around scaling, security, and system design
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the team

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience using TypeScript and Node.js
• 2+ years of experience writing scalable and performant server-side code
• Experience in creating documentation for diverse technical audiences
• Willingness to mentor and train colleagues on best practices
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitLab
