Senior BI Developer (Java, SQL)

About the role

As a Senior BI Developer, you will play a pivotal role in an agile team responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level ERP applications. You will collaborate closely with customers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions and product updates. Your expertise in enterprise BI platforms (e.g., IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or SAP BusinessObjects), Java, and SQL will be essential in troubleshooting, gathering requirements, and ensuring the seamless integration and performance of our applications. You will work on mission-critical systems, requiring a deep understanding of both application logic and database architecture, and support customer issues during US East Time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and support enterprise-level ERP applications using enterprise BI tools, Java, and SQL.
• Interface directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and gather requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, development, quality assurance, and design teams to deliver outstanding software products and updates.
• Utilize BI platform SDKs/APIs for advanced development tasks and integrations.
• Design and implement complex SQL queries, functions, and views to support application functionality.
• Contribute to the development of custom authentication providers as needed.
• Participate in agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Software Developer working with enterprise BI tools (IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SAP BusinessObjects, or similar).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with a BI platform's SDK/API for custom development and integrations.
• Proficiency in Java development.
• Advanced SQL skills, including developing complex queries, functions, and views.
• Preferred: Prior experience specifically with IBM Cognos.
• Preferred: Experience developing custom authentication providers.
• Preferred: Prior experience working with ERP systems.
