Role Description

The Senior Blockchain Engineer contract role is a remote position focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining blockchain-based systems that support alternative asset digitization and loyalty solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting and developing smart contracts, integrating blockchain components with back-end services, and ensuring secure, scalable infrastructure for asset issuance and management. The engineer will collaborate with product, compliance, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, conduct code reviews, and optimize performance across multiple blockchain networks. This role also involves staying current with industry standards, security best practices, and emerging protocols to guide technical decision-making and improve the platform over time.

Smart Contract & Blockchain Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy smart contracts and blockchain applications.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services for blockchain products.
• Develop and maintain cross-platform applications that integrate with on-chain infrastructure.
• Integrate wallets, payment systems, and blockchain APIs with existing systems.
• Optimize for gas efficiency, transaction latency, reliability, and scalability.

Security & Quality

• Implement and uphold best practices for blockchain security and smart contract auditing.
• Review smart contracts and backend code for security vulnerabilities and performance issues.
• Support audits, security reviews, and production releases.
• Maintain high test coverage and disciplined release processes.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and deliver technical requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Stay current with emerging blockchain technologies, DeFi, and Web3 infrastructure trends.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Blockchain and Cryptocurrency technologies, including smart contract platforms and asset tokenization.
• Advanced knowledge of Cryptography, secure protocol design, and practical application of encryption and key management.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, including APIs, microservices, and distributed system design.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages commonly used in blockchain (e.g., Solidity, Rust, Go, TypeScript) and related tooling.
• Background in designing and deploying production-grade blockchain solutions, preferably in financial or asset management contexts.
• Familiarity with regulatory-conscious architectures, security audits, and compliance considerations for digital assets.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document technical decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior senior or lead engineer experience is highly beneficial.
