Senior BMS Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BMS Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS), supporting the design, development, and delivery of high-quality controls solutions that fully meet client requirements and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BMS design and consultancy, with experience in the integration and convergence of systems such as access control, security, fire alarm, and client IT networks, together with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems.

As a Senior BMS Engineer, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subject matter experts to deliver innovative and coordinated solutions. You will also support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to technical excellence and continuous improvement across projects.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Key Responsibilities and Tasks)

• Prepare BMS design documents, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports throughout all project stages.
• Attend client, internal, and external meetings, workshops, and presentations to support project delivery and coordination.
• Conduct site inspections, witnessing activities, and assist during commissioning and handover phases.
• Collaborate with clients, subject matter experts (SMEs), and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated BMS solutions.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, ICT, and ELV teams to ensure high-quality and fully coordinated designs.
• Present work-in-progress (WIP) designs and technical proposals to clients and stakeholders at key project milestones.
• Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input during contractor selection processes.
• Review contractor technical submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, and other project documentation.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed in accordance with quality standards, schedules, and client expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in BMS and controls engineering solutions.
• Support junior engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in Building Management Systems (BMS) design, preferably within engineering consultancy or mission-critical/data centre projects.
• Strong experience in BMS integration with access control, security, fire alarm, and client IT network systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems and their interaction with BMS platforms.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and certifications relevant to building automation and controls systems.
• Good understanding of sustainable building design principles, renewable energy technologies, and low-carbon solutions.
• Experience with IT networking fundamentals and associated technologies for smart buildings and integrated systems.
• Strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and global project teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Previous experience working as a BMS consultant within an engineering design consultancy environment is highly desirable.
