Senior Bookkeeper

Job Summary
Equitus Partners LLP is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team of professionally designated accountants and consultants in our Edmonton office.

As a firm dedicated to providing flexible, personalized solutions for our clients, we're looking for someone who can contribute to our commitment to exceptional results and client-focused service. In this role, you will focus on delivering high-quality bookkeeping and financial reporting services to a diverse client base.

You will work closely with our accounting and assurance team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial records, while supporting broader accounting and reporting functions across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages for client review
• Assist in the preparation of GST/HST returns and other regulatory filings
• Support year-end processes and audit preparations
• Collaborate with clients and internal team members to resolve accounting discrepancies
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure data integrity
• Mentor and guide junior bookkeepers as needed
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of accounting software for clients
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of bookkeeping processes and procedures

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, and Xero is considered an asset
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems and integrations

Pay: $60,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
