Senior Bookkeeper

A Mackay accounting firm with a strong local client base is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to take on a senior level portfolio. The practice works with a mix of owner-managed businesses, trade groups and professional services clients, and has built its reputation on getting the fundamentals right and communicating clearly.

The team is modern, tech-savvy and keen to keep improving how it works, with cloud-based systems and automation tools already part of the daily workflow. Demand from existing clients has created this opportunity for a confident bookkeeper who is ready to be properly recognised for their experience.

THE ROLE:
Reporting to an experienced team you will own a portfolio of established clients and be their go-to person for day-to-day financial administration.

• Full cycle bookkeeping including bank reconciliations, AP and AR
• Payroll processing, superannuation and STP reporting
• BAS and IAS preparation and review
• Month end close and management reporting for clients
• Training and supporting junior bookkeepers as the team grows
• Working with the accountants to keep client files accurate and on time

THE INDIVIDUAL:

• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting, or higher
• Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public practice environment
• Advanced working knowledge of Xero and MYOB
• Confident communicator who can manage clients directly
• Detail focused, self-driven and comfortable managing competing deadlines
