Senior Business Analyst – Post-Acquisition System Migration

Location: Antwerp, Belgium

Contract: Freelance, full-time, initial 12-month assignment

The Role:

The client, a growing composite insurance company in Belgium, is looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a post-acquisition system migration project. The objective is to integrate an acquired business into the existing organisation, aligning systems, data and business processes while ensuring operational continuity.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams and external partners to analyse requirements, assess the impact of the migration and support the transition towards the target environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements, translating them into clear functional specifications.
• Analyse existing business processes and systems, identify gaps and define requirements for the target environment.
• Support system integration and migration activities, including data mapping, validation and reconciliation.
• Assess the impact of system and process changes on business operations, identifying risks, dependencies and potential issues.
• Facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on solutions.
• Define test scenarios, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support defect analysis and resolution.
• Monitor project progress and ensure business requirements are adequately addressed throughout the migration.
• Support implementation planning, cutover preparation and post-go-live stabilisation.

Desired Profile

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in complex IT transformation, system migration or integration projects.
• Industry knowledge: Previous experience in insurance or financial services is highly desirable, with an understanding of insurance processes and business operations.
• Migration experience: Familiarity with system migrations, post-acquisition integrations, data migration or the consolidation of business applications.
• Business analysis: Strong capabilities in requirements gathering, process mapping, impact analysis and functional documentation.
• Testing: Experience defining test scenarios, supporting UAT, analysing defects and validating that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
• Stakeholder management: Ability to work effectively with business users, IT teams, project managers and external suppliers.
• Analytical skills: A structured and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to identify gaps, assess complex problems and translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Communication: Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
• Languages: Fluent English is required. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
