Our client a Japanese Energy company is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for their Houston office.

Employment: Full-Time; Hybrid

Salary: $167-198K base DOE

Education: MBA or advanced degree prefer

JOB DUTIES:

• Develop and execute business development strategies to support company growth.
• Identify and evaluate investment, acquisition, and partnership opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, investors, utilities, and financial institutions.
• Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis for investment decisions.
• Lead commercial negotiations, due diligence, and transaction execution.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Legal, Tax, Development, and Operations.
• Prepare investment recommendations and present findings to senior leadership.
• Represent the company at industry events and strengthen business networks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in business development, M&A, project finance, investment management, or a related field within the energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. power markets and energy industry trends.
• Experience evaluating and executing investment, acquisition, or partnership opportunities.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of project finance, tax equity, and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
