Senior Business Solutions Analyst

AT A GLANCE

The Senior Business Solutions Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable business models, templates, and operational solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making across the organization. This role partners closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand business processes, assumptions, and requirements, translating them into practical and sustainable solutions.

YOUR OVERALL MISSION & DAY-TO-DAY

SME Partnership and Discovery

• Partner with Department SMEs to understand current workflows, operational challenges, business rules, and decision-making process
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement.
• Document business requirements, assumptions, dependencies, and success metrics for assigned projects.
• Challenge existing processes constructively and recommend alternative approaches that improve efficiency, scalability, and usability.
• Translate business needs into structured solution designs and development plans.

Model and Template Development

• Design, build, test, and maintain business models, templates, calculators, trackers, and other operational tools that support business processes.
• Develop automated and scalable solutions using advanced Excel functionality, including Power Query, VBA/macros, Power Automate, and complex formulas.
• Ensure solutions are accurate, reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with business requirements.
• Establish appropriate controls, validations, and documentation to support long-term sustainability and governance.
• Continuously improve existing solutions based on business feedback, process changes, and operational needs.
• Lead the design of complex business models and decision-support tools that align to end-to-end processes across multiple functions, partnering with Process Engineering on any underlying process redesign.
• Evaluate solution alternatives, balance operational impacts, and ensure models remain scalable and sustainable.
• Lead initiatives that embed automation and AI into these models, evaluating trade-offs in cost, risk, and impact.
• Establish review checkpoints to confirm AI-assisted and automated output meets team standards before release, and coach others to do the same.

Cross-Pod Collaboration

• Lead collaboration with departments and BI&A teams to align data sources, reporting requirements, and processes into scalable business solutions.
• Coordinate with MIS and Process Engineering to ensure model outputs remain aligned with system data and approved process designs.
• Identify process-related inefficiencies surfaced during model development and escalate them to Process Engineering for process redesign, partnering closely on the solution.
• Own cross-functional project coordination between multiple BI&A functions and business stakeholders, resolving competing priorities.
• Ensure developed solutions align with organizational standards, data governance requirements, and business objectives, escalating gaps as needed.
• Lead discovery workshops for complex initiatives, resolve conflicting business requirements, prioritize needs based on business value, and coach others in business analysis techniques.

Deployment and Ongoing Support

• Own end-to-end solution deployment, including user testing, implementation planning, documentation, and stakeholder training.
• Establish and maintain deployment environments (SharePoint, OneDrive, or other approved platforms) with clear governance for operational ownership.
• Lead handover of completed solutions to business users, ensuring knowledge transfer, adoption, and sustainability.
• Oversee ongoing support, troubleshooting, enhancements, and maintenance for deployed solutions, escalating recurring issues to the Lead Business Solutions Analyst as needed.
• Monitor solution performance against business KPIs and proactively recommend improvements to maintain long-term effectiveness.
• Lead solution validation, facilitate user acceptance testing, identify optimization opportunities across business functions, and ensure successful adoption of process improvements.

Business Analyst Support and People Development

• Serve as the primary escalation point for the Business Solutions Analyst on project challenges, technical issues, and stakeholder concerns.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support throughout project execution.
• Review work outputs to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
• Share best practices, development techniques, and problem-solving approaches to support capability building within the team.

YOUR TALENT

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in modeling, analytics, or business solutions role — specifically involving the development of models or templates used in production.
• Advanced Excel proficiency: Power Query, Power Automate, VBA/macro development, and advanced formulas
• Experience pulling data via Power Query from external sources — familiarity with Dataflow or OneLake connections is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint and OneDrive — able to set up and structure environments for deployed team-operated solutions.
• Proven ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders, extract requirements, and challenge assumptions constructively.
