Project Duration: 12 months

We are looking for a Senior Business System Analyst with strong experience in Data & Analytics environments and modern data platforms, ideally Databricks , to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

In this role, you will work closely with Business, Data Engineering, BI and Data Science teams to analyze business needs, define functional specifications, support solution design, and ensure successful delivery of enterprise data initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Organize and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories.
• Perform impact analysis on existing systems, processes and data flows.
• Define business rules, acceptance criteria and functional documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers in designing data solutions built on Databricks.
• Analyze source systems, data mappings, transformations and end-to-end data flows.
• Contribute to data modelling activities and information architecture discussions.
• Understand and document ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Ensure end-to-end data traceability from source systems to reporting layers.
• Define and support Data Quality rules and operational controls.
• Prepare and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities together with business users.
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis and support issue resolution.
• Maintain project documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Work within Agile teams and actively contribute to planning, refinement and delivery activities.

Tools / Software Knowledge & Competencies:

Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business System Analyst.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Data & Analytics projects.
• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Practical experience working with Databricks.
• Good understanding of:
• Data Lake
• Data Warehouse
• ETL / ELT
• Delta Lake
• Data Governance
• Data Quality
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Nice to Have

• Azure Databricks
• Azure Data Factory
• Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
• Python or PySpark
• Data Mesh and Data Products
• Banking or Financial Services experience
• Knowledge of Retail or Corporate Banking products
• Agile, CBAP, PMI-PBA or Databricks Fundamentals certifications

Education & Soft Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in business process modelling, data mapping and gap analysis.
• Experience writing functional specifications, acceptance criteria and user stories.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Team player with a proactive mindset and strong ownership.
