Senior Business Systems Analyst

There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule.

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst / Scrum Master to join an Agile project team. This role requires strong experience in business analysis, quality assurance, Agile methodologies, and Azure DevOps.

The position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and testing clear and unambiguous business requirements. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand business needs in depth and effectively communicate system functionality and requirements to technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and end users.

This role will also serve as the Scrum Master, with heavy use of Azure DevOps to manage epics, features, user stories, and work items throughout the project lifecycle. The individual will coordinate with the Project Manager and PMO to support required project documentation and deliverables.

The analyst will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to evaluate current-state and future-state business processes, data, and systems. Findings will be used to define business requirements, develop solutions, and execute testing to ensure the delivered system meets expected functionality and quality standards.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid position based in Lansing, Michigan

• Candidates should ideally live within approximately one hour of Lansing

• Required onsite workdays are Tuesday and Wednesday, with a full 8-hour workday in the office on both days

• The first month will require onsite work five days per week for onboarding

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship from our client

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements

• Develop process flows, use cases, user stories, and clearly defined acceptance criteria

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams

• Document current-state and future-state ("as-is/to-be") business processes

• Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on business and functional requirements

• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing

• Identify, document, track, and assist with resolving defects

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders

• Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards

• Serve as Scrum Master and support Agile ceremonies and project activities

• Use Azure DevOps to create and manage epics, features, user stories, tasks, and work items throughout the project lifecycle

• Collaborate with developers, project managers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues

• Assist with product roadmap development

• Support system demonstrations, training documentation, and production validation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project, BA, and QA documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have experience within the last five years in the following areas:

• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience

• 3+ years of Quality Assurance Analyst experience

• 3+ years of Azure DevOps experience, or comparable experience with a tool such as Jira

• Strong hands-on experience creating and managing epics, features, user stories, and work items

• 3+ years of experience documenting as-is/to-be processes and creating supporting content

• 3+ years of experience using BA/QA tools, such as Figma and Visio

• 3+ years of experience working with and understanding BA, QA, and Development roles and responsibilities

• 3+ years of experience creating product roadmaps

• 3+ years of experience working with Agile and/or other project management methodologies

• Experience developing process flows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, and test cases

• Experience supporting functional, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing
