Senior Business Systems Analyst – Infrastructure & Developer Platform

The Role

Cogniify is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support infrastructure and developer platform initiatives. You will work closely with platform engineering, DevOps, security, development and QA teams to translate technical needs into clear requirements, practical workflows and self-service solutions.

The role focuses on improving how developers and testers access cloud infrastructure, development environments, CI/CD pipelines and security tools. You will help simplify processes, reduce manual setup and improve developer productivity, while supporting Agile delivery and taking on Scrum Lead responsibilities when required.

What You Will Do

· Work with engineering, QA and product teams to gather requirements for cloud infrastructure, environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and access management. Convert needs into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.

· Help define and improve infrastructure services, self-service provisioning workflows, standard environment templates and developer onboarding processes.

· Map current infrastructure and environment setup processes, identify manual work and delays, and define improved workflows with platform teams.

· Partner with cloud and platform engineers on infrastructure-as-code standards, landing zones and reusable provisioning templates.

· Work with DevOps teams to document requirements for build pipelines, deployment automation, artifact management, release gates and environment promotion.

· Coordinate with security teams to incorporate IAM, secrets management, policy controls, vulnerability checks and audit logging into development and infrastructure workflows.

· Define and track delivery and adoption metrics such as environment setup time, deployment frequency, change failure rate, developer onboarding time and self-service adoption.

· Create clear process diagrams, documentation, runbooks, service definitions and user guides. Support team training and adoption of new tools and workflows.

· Facilitate technical workshops, backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing coordination and release readiness. Act as Scrum Lead when required.

· Assess developer platform and cloud tools against business and technical requirements, and support build-versus-buy decisions.

What We Are Looking For

· 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, Platform Product Owner or similar, including at least 3 years working with cloud, infrastructure or DevOps teams.

· Strong understanding of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, including networking, compute, storage and environment provisioning.

· Practical familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep.

· Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, configuration management and typical software deployment workflows.

· Understanding of Internal Developer Platforms, developer portals, service catalogs, golden paths and self-service infrastructure provisioning.

· Knowledge of cloud security and SecOps practices, including IAM, least privilege, secrets management, policy-as-code and security or compliance scanning.

· Ability to write clear technical requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

· Experience with Agile, Scrum or Kanban delivery, requirements workshops, process mapping and stakeholder coordination.

· Ability to use dashboards and metrics to assess developer productivity, platform adoption and delivery improvements.

Preferred Experience

· Experience with Backstage or other internal developer portals and platform-as-a-product approaches.

· Knowledge of DORA metrics, BPMN, value-stream mapping and gap analysis.

· Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2 or NIST controls and security review processes.

· Experience reviewing Terraform configurations, pipeline definitions and cloud architecture diagrams.

· Experience assessing vendor solutions and preparing business cases for platform investments.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field. AWS/Azure, CBAP, CKAD or Security+ certifications are an advantage.

Pay: $177,000.00-$183,000.00 per year
