About the role

Senior Business Systems Engineer role involving ownership of existing systems, technical development, AI integration, and business engagement. You will gradually take over the ongoing maintenance and support of systems developed by MG, including custom code and integrations around M3.

Key responsibilities

• Gradually take over the ongoing maintenance and support of systems developed by MG, including custom code and integrations around M3
• Troubleshoot, maintain and extend code, SQL, integrations, automation, BI reporting and supporting cloud infrastructure
• Identify practical opportunities to use AI to improve business efficiency
• Develop prototypes and, following approval, build and integrate AI solutions into business systems and workflows
• Evaluate accuracy, data security, cost and reliability, and maintain solutions once operational
• Work with subsidiary teams to understand their processes, resolve systems issues and identify improvement opportunities
• Investigate possible solutions and present the benefits, costs, risks and support implications for discussion and approval by the CIO and relevant stakeholders
• Deliver approved changes, coordinate suppliers where needed, and manage testing, documentation and handover
• Document existing solutions, establish clear support procedures and reduce reliance on knowledge held by individual people

Qualifications and Background:

We are looking for a natural problem-solver who is resourceful, adaptable, and eager to learn. While specific technical skills are valuable, the right mindset is what's most important.

• Excellent problem-solving skills are essential. We need someone who is curious, can think logically, and is driven to find the root cause of an issue.
• This is a general technical role. A willingness to embrace and learn all types of technologies is key. You don't need to be a master to begin with, but you must be open to adapting as our business and systems evolve.
• You don't need to know the answer to everything. What’s crucial is your ability to research solutions, learn on the fly, and use modern tools, including AI assistants, to find answers faster.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• A full, clean driver's license and the flexibility for occasional travel to other company sites.

Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm
