Senior Buyer (MRO)

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

• Assist the Procurement Manager in managing daily procurement activities and ensuring timely PR-to-PO processing.
• Support and guide junior team members on sourcing, negotiation, supplier issues, and procurement procedures.
• Act as the first point of escalation for operational and vendor-related issues.
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with procurement SOPs.

Reporting & Performance

• Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports, including cost savings, PR-to-PO cycle time, and supplier performance.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and follow up on areas requiring improvement.
• Prepare summaries and presentations for management review.

Sourcing & Tendering

• Manage end-to-end sourcing for MRO items, spare parts, industrial consumables, facility maintenance, and technical services.
• Work with internal departments to prepare BQ, scope of work, specifications, and tender documents.
• Manage RFQ, RFP, tender exercises, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations.

Vendor Management & Cost Saving

• Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranty, and service agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or service issues.
• Drive cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, SOPs, and audit requirements.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in MRO, spare parts, equipment, facility services, or technical engineering services is required.
• Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role.
• Able to understand engineering drawings, machine parts, BQ, and technical specifications.
• Experience in RFQ, RFP, tendering, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
• Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle and Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work effectively with different departments, suppliers, and management.
