Contract Senior .NET Engineer – C# / Azure – Cape Town (Hybrid) – Digital Transformation & Health Technology

The Role:

My client is looking to hire a Senior .NET Engineer to support the development of backend systems and integrations powering their digital ecosystem.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on C#, .NET, Azure, APIs, and cloud-based integrations. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and QA teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across internal and third-party platforms.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• 6+ years’ experience within software engineering, backend development, or systems integration
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and Azure cloud technologies
• Experience building REST APIs, backend services, and cloud integration solutions
• Strong understanding of API-led and event-driven architectures
• Experience working across distributed systems and third-party integrations
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern engineering practices
• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities across backend systems
• Ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams
• Comfortable working within Agile environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Functions, or Event Grid
• Exposure to Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience supporting digital products or mobile platforms
• Product-led or customer-focused technology background
