Senior C Developer – Front Office Trading Technology

This is a rare English only role. Must be in Japan with a valid visa.

Join a highly specialized Front Office Trading Technology team at the forefront of Ultra-Low Latency Electronic Trading . This role offers the opportunity to build and optimize high-performance trading infrastructure used by institutional clients and some of the world's most sophisticated trading firms. Working directly with traders, FPGA engineers, network specialists, and front-office stakeholders, you'll develop cutting-edge electronic trading solutions operating at microsecond and nanosecond latency levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance ultra-low latency C/C++ trading applications running on Linux platforms.
• Build and maintain high-performance exchange connectivity and DMA (Direct Market Access) solutions.
• Contribute to low-latency trading infrastructure operating within co-location environments.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle including architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Optimize network communication, message processing, and application performance for deterministic execution.
• Collaborate closely with trading desks, FPGA developers, network engineers, and global technology teams.
• Support and enhance core execution platforms, exchange gateways, and market connectivity services.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support for business-critical trading applications.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technology strategy and platform evolution.
• Drive continuous improvement across performance, reliability, and scalability initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on development experience with C in Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience building high-performance, low-latency, or real-time systems.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including:
• TCP/IP
• Network protocols
• Multithreading
• Server-side processing
• Network optimization
• Experience with software integration and medium-to-large scale development projects.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration tools and performance analysis techniques.
• Experience with regression testing, automation, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
