Senior C# Software Developer - Freelance

the client is engaging a Senior C# Software Developer to support the Data and Analytics (NL UW Data Strategy) programme. The role focuses on evolving and extending existing applications that support complex business workflows, including bordereaux ingestion and program management tooling, in a context where requirements may change as the domain is better understood.

Missions

• Design, extend, and maintain a C# Blazor application with UI-driven, multi-step, line-of-business-dependent workflows, implementing complex and evolving business logic.

• Enhance the Bordereaux Ingestion Process, including adding new steps/screens and revisiting existing logic to support new Lines of Business.

• Contribute to the redesign of the program management tooling, including UI components to trigger existing Snowflake extraction algorithms and administer reference data (CRUD with versioning).

• Interact with relational databases via existing abstractions (e.g., stored procedures, queries, EF Core generated entities); deep database or Snowflake optimization knowledge is not required.

• Contribute to the existing CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying the application.

• Maintain appropriate application logging and operational visibility; contribute to Azure/App Insights and access configuration when needed.

Deliverables & Outcomes

• Incremental enhancements to application functionality across bordereaux ingestion, program management tooling, and supporting UI components, delivered in an iterative manner as requirements evolve.

• Extension and adaptation of existing workflows to support new Lines of Business and more complex business rules.

• Stable and well-observable application behavior through appropriate logging, monitoring, and operational visibility.

• Functional and reliable integration with existing database procedures and platform components.

• Monthly timesheets and regular status/progress updates in line with XXXX reporting requirements.

Working Conditions

• Location: Remote.

• Cadence: Regular check-ins with XXXX technical team (to be agreed).

• Reporting: Provide a weekly status/progress update and a monthly timesheet detailing hours worked by service/deliverable area.

• Access/onboarding: XXXX will brief the contractor, provide access to environments/resources, and set up monitoring meetings.

1. Senior-level C# / .NET software development experience delivering and maintaining production applications
2. Strong general software engineering skills, including ability to work on complex business logic and evolve existing systems with changing requirements
3. Experience working across backend and UI layers; familiarity with Blazor is a plus but not required
4. Solid understanding of relational databases; knowledge of EF Core is a plus but not required
5. Exposure to application logging and operational monitoring (e.g. Application Insights or equivalent); deep platform or DevOps specialization not expected
6. Experience in reinsurance or insurance domains is a strong plus
7. Demonstrated willingness and ability to understand business processes and problem domains
8. Ability to work independently in a remote setup, engage with business and technical stakeholders, and communicate clearly
