Senior CAD Engineer(Injection Molding)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Convert acquisitions 2D/3D CAD data into standard TC/NX formats.

2D/3D CAD data creation to support Global engineering Teams.

Specification Development

A - Reviews customer specification

B Summarize customer specification for internal use and identify the work scope.

C - Clarifies customer specification, requirements, issues and outcomes with customer and internal team

D - Develop product specifications together with customer and internal team if efficient spec is not available

E - Ensures that customer parameter brief in 1213 database is complete and up to date (use as core tool)

F - Ensure that the Engineering Services Workfront database is complete and up to date (use as core tool)

Concept development, CAD design, drawing creation (Design/Modification work with goal to meet customer and specifications)

A - Designs/Modification (CAD) and creates concepts designs for SBU approval (as & when needed) and production parts towards customer and

internal specification considering program goals in the area of cost, quality and timelines (from initial acquisition to formal program to launch).

B - Ensures DFA and DFM (esp. injection molding process) are integrated in product Design/Modification (in conjunction with manufacturing

engineering support). This includes the use of existing best-in-class concepts and components (i.e., LSP - latch system platforms)

C - Creates Designs in TC/NX towards the required customer CAD standards.

D - Creates component, assembly and trade drawings for internal and external use using GD&T, SC (special characteristics) and other tools for

identifying customer and requirement

E - Carries out product improvements (CAD design) towards internal and external requirements (i.e. specification change request)

F - Makes complete tolerance analysis on all interfering features (sub assembly and customers application)

G - Supports SBU / Program Management team in initial technical feasibility studies.

H - Support SBU / Program Management in initial concept development during program acquisition and RFQ processes

Engineering support on technical issues whenever needed:

A - Provide support to front end team onndard product application/packaging in customer CAD environment data.

B - Supports supply chain management team and manufacturing engineers in technical review meeting with supply base (ie. design and process

reviews.

C - Ensure on time creation of prototype request if needed. Pre-production and production (initial) build dates and requirements are met towards

expected quality goals and timelines.

D - Ensures that product development process follows PRO-04 requirements and APQP elements. Maintains APQP documentation when required.

Manages/maintains/supports required technical customer documentation (as per customer specification).

E - Gives younger group members guidance on technical issues.

Training and supporting new associates in Engineering team:

A - Providing on job training to newly joined associate on specific Engineering systems or process like

ECP, PRN, PRO-04, ICE, MOD, IPN. Workfront, Product evaluation & prototype request system.

B - Reviewing the work of new associate, guiding and helping to complete the requests.

C - Product & application training for new associates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required Bachelors Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 5-7 years work experience of Design in Engineering Industry

Must have working expertise in TC/NX CAD System application (3D/2D) along with data management in PLM software

Must have excellent English communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills•

Must be self-motivated, team oriented, result driven, flexible, visionary and able to succeed in a fast paced, multiple-project growth environment

Must have working experience of Project Engineering and doing concepts designs, modification in existing design in a project environment
