Senior CAD Technician

About The Role Balfour Beatty Power T&D are looking for a Senior CAD Technician to join their team in Derby. Role Purpose

• Produce a range of Drawings and Material Schedules to the required standard first time and within time scales set.
• Assist in the checking of Documents produced by other members of the team.
• To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output.

What you'll be doing

Accountabilities

• To produce a range of documents as required by a specific project.
• Liaise as necessary with the designer and operations personnel to determine the most suitable and practical interpretation of design requirements.
• To comply with project and function specific standards and practices.
• To assist in the estimation of timescales for a specific task.
• To assist in the production of reports and enquiry documentation.
• To assist in the training of junior members of staff and direct contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties.
• To act safely and work to eliminate hazards at source.
• Produce accurate packages with minimum of rework
• Produce accurate and complete records

Interfaces Internal - Design Engineers, Operations, Commercial team and Procurement

Who we're looking for

Experience Essential

• Cad experience - MicroStation or AutoCad
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
• Capable of managing time well and planning ahead while working on multiple projects.
• ONC or equivalent in engineering discipline

Desirable

• Wire Clearance Diagrams
• Insulator Set Drawings (components to BS 3288)
• Phasing Diagrams
• Experience using BIM360 Docs.
• OHL profiles
• PLSCADD
