Senior Cardiac Physiologist

Join a Private Community Cardiology Service with a Difference

Your Heart Scan is a growing, independent cardiac diagnostic service providing high-quality, accessible echocardiography and non-invasive cardiac investigations within a welcoming community setting. We believe exceptional patient care starts with looking after the people who provide it. We are proud of the supportive culture we have created and want our team to enjoy coming to work, feel valued and have the time and resources needed to deliver excellent care. Alongside a competitive package, our team benefits from a number of additional wellbeing and professional benefits designed around our staff.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our friendly team. Full-time and part-time opportunities will be considered.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
  • HCPC or RCCP registration, or eligibility for registration.
  • British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography accreditation or equivalent recognised accreditation.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in transthoracic echocardiography and non-invasive cardiac investigations.
  • Ability to independently perform and report high-quality adult transthoracic echocardiograms.
  • Experience performing 12-lead ECGs and familiarity with ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to maintaining professional accreditation and current clinical knowledge.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working independently within a physiologist-led echocardiography service.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring or supporting other cardiac physiologists.
  • Understanding of BSE standards, quality assurance and accreditation.
  • Experience within NHS and/or independent healthcare settings.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with cardiac reporting and image archiving systems.

The Person We're Looking For:

Clinical expertise is important, but so is the way you care for people. You will be an experienced, approachable and compassionate physiologist who takes pride in producing high-quality studies and reports while ensuring every patient feels comfortable, listened to and cared for. You should have excellent attention to detail, strong communication and organisational skills, and be confident working independently while enjoying being part of a close and supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently perform and report high-quality adult transthoracic echocardiograms in accordance with current BSE guidance.
  • Perform other non-invasive cardiac investigations within your scope of practice.
  • Provide a professional, compassionate and patient-centred experience throughout every appointment.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and appropriate standards of confidentiality and information governance.
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, audit and continuous service improvement.
  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to the development of our clinical team.
  • Maintain professional competence, accreditation and knowledge of current evidence-based practice.

We offer a competitive salary reflecting experience and accreditation, workplace pension, generous annual leave, support for continuing professional development and professional accreditation, flexible working opportunities and a range of additional staff wellbeing and team benefits. Most importantly, you will join a growing independent service where quality comes before volume, clinicians are trusted and supported, and there is a genuine commitment to looking after both our patients and the people who care for them.
