Senior Category Manager

Akkodis is seeking a Category Manager IV for a Contract with a client located remotely, with strong hands-on experience with Coupa, Infor Lawson / Enterprise Software (Suite 9), Power Generation / Electric Generation, Turbine generators (procurement, long-term service agreements/LTSAs, maintenance), and High-voltage electrical equipment.

Rate Range: $90/hr - $95/hr (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Position Summary & Background:

The Strategic Sourcing team is expanding to support a significant influx of procurement activity resulting from the acquisition of Calpine. Workload spans routine procurement/RFQ tasks to highly complex, strategic sourcing initiatives. Candidates need to hit the ground running with minimal supervision once introduced to internal workflows and ERP tools.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

1. Non-Negotiables / Required Skills

Sourcing & Sourcing Management: Strong background in executing end-to-end complex sourcing initiatives, contract execution, and supplier negotiations.

Industry Domain Experience: Background in Power Generation / Electric Generation (or related utility/energy sectors).

Independent Execution: Ability to operate autonomously after initial process onboarding, requiring only standard remote supervisory oversight.

Years of Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on, high-level strategic sourcing experience.

2. Technical & Equipment Exposure (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)

Equipment & Services Sourcing: Experience sourcing power plant equipment and related services, including:

Turbine generators (procurement, long-term service agreements/LTSAs, maintenance)

High-voltage electrical equipment

Mechanical components and utility maintenance services

Education:

No strict degree requirement; relevant industry experience and proven track record are prioritized.

3. Systems & Tools

• ERP System: Infor Lawson / Enterprise Software (Suite 9)
• Sourcing Platform: Coupa
• General Tools: Microsoft Office Suite
