Senior Chemist

· Position Summary

· The Senior Chemist leads laboratory activities, develops and optimizes chemical processes, conducts complex analyses, ensures quality and safety compliance, and provides technical guidance to laboratory staff. The role supports R&D, quality control, troubleshooting, process improvement, and customer activities.

· Key Responsibilities· Technical Operations

· Plan, conduct, and supervise chemical experiments and analyses.

· Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods and laboratory procedures.

· Interpret data and prepare technical reports.

· Investigate quality issues and identify root causes.

· Support laboratory-to-pilot/production scale-up activities.

· Review laboratory results and ensure proper instrument calibration and maintenance.

· Conduct customer site visits and demonstrate equipment when required.

· Research & Development

· Lead formulation, process improvement, and product development projects.

· Evaluate new raw materials, technologies, and analytical techniques.

· Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development.

· Quality & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and quality systems.

· Review SOPs, specifications, validation protocols, and change controls.

· Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation.

· Leadership & Team Development

· Mentor and train chemists, analysts, and laboratory technicians.

· Provide technical guidance and support for work planning.

· Contribute to recruitment, performance evaluations, and competency development.

· Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

· Safety & Environmental Management

· Ensure safe chemical handling and laboratory practices.

· Conduct risk assessments and hazard evaluations.

· Manage chemical inventory and waste disposal.

· Support EHS initiatives and compliance.

· Qualifications & Experience

· Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.

· 2+ years of relevant laboratory, analytical, QC, or R&D experience.

· Experience leading technical projects and mentoring teams.

· Experience in regulated environments is preferred.

· Technical & Soft Skills

· Strong knowledge of analytical methods, validation, and statistical data analysis.

· Understanding chemical synthesis, formulation, or process chemistry.

· Familiarity with LIMS and quality management systems.

· Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
