Our disciplines run side by side: structural and civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, ground survey, point cloud survey, fabrication drawings, and project and construction management. We are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

 Civil is our second largest discipline by revenue. The work spans land development and subdivision, stormwater and drainage, water sensitive urban design, flood assessment and hydrological modelling, pavements and access, and the civil scope on utility scale renewable energy sites.

The Opportunity

We are appointing a Senior Civil Engineer to carry the technical depth of the civil discipline and to lead the remote civil team. The role is technical first: you will design, model and check civil work yourself. It is also a genuine leadership role. You will run the civil review chain, allocate and monitor work, and be accountable for the development of the engineers and drafters around you.

 The balance matters and we want to be direct about it. This is not a coordination role with a technical title, and it is not a design role with incidental supervision. Both halves are real and both are assessed.

Key Responsibilities

Civil Design and Modelling

• Produce and check civil design for land development, subdivision, stormwater and drainage, pavements, access and earthworks.
• Undertake hydrological and hydraulic modelling, including pre and post-developed catchment analysis and flood assessment.
• Design water sensitive urban design measures and demonstrate compliance with council and authority requirements.
• Prepare civil documentation to construction standard, including drawings, specifications and quantities.
• Deliver the civil scope on renewable energy and industrial sites, including bulk earthworks, access roads and site drainage.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead the remote civil team: allocate work, monitor progress against programme, and surface blockers early rather than late.
• Set clear expectations, give direct feedback, and manage performance conversations within your team.
• Mentor engineers and drafters deliberately, with a stated development path for each person rather than incidental learning.
• Contribute to workload forecasting and to honest conversations about capacity and resourcing.

Checking and Independent Review

• Run the review chain for civil deliverables and perform independent review of work produced by others.
• Record review outcomes as required by the QA framework.
• Contribute to root-cause review of rework and to improving first-pass approval rates.
• Hold a clear view of your own sign-off boundary and escalate when a decision sits above it.

Standards and Compliance

• Apply the relevant Australian Standards, Austroads guidance and Australian Rainfall and Runoff methods.
• Contribute to Cresco internal design standards, typical details and the QA framework.
• Uphold company quality, safety and environmental standards.

About You

Essential

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent accredited qualification recognised in Australia.
• Eight or more years' experience in civil design across land development, drainage or infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing a team of engineers or drafters, with evidence of having developed people rather than simply directed them.
• Strong hydrological and hydraulic modelling capability.
• Demonstrated experience checking and reviewing the civil design work of others.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as Civil 3D, 12d Model or Bentley OpenRoads.
• Proficiency in drainage or catchment modelling software such as DRAINS, MUSIC, TUFLOW or HEC-RAS.
• Sound engineering judgement, and the confidence to raise an issue rather than pass it on.
• Strong written and verbal English for design documentation, client correspondence and managing a team remotely.
• A reliable home working environment and internet connection.

Desirable (Not Compulsory)

• Experience on Australian civil projects, with working knowledge of Australian Standards, Austroads guidance and council development requirements. Strongly preferred.
• Experience on renewable energy or large industrial sites.
• Chartered status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia, or National Engineering Register listing.
• Knowledge of computer programming or scripting fundamentals.

Employment & Remuneration

Full-time and remote, as part of Cresco's offshore team on the standard remote engagement terms. The remuneration range for this position is PHP 100,000 to PHP 140,000 per month, with the position in the range negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
