Senior Civil Engineer

Currently working with a well-established consultancy seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Land Development team. This role sits within a high-performing environment and offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects while leading and mentoring junior engineers.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality land development projects, working closely with clients, and internal teams. This is a hands-on role that blends technical delivery with leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review civil design work across land development projects
• Provide guidance and direction to junior engineers and designers
• Liaise with clients, councils, and key stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard
• Act as a technical point of contact within the team
• Contribute to project strategy and design decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• Around 6+ years’ experience within land development
• Strong background in civil design and project delivery
• Proven ability to engage with clients and local authorities
• Experience mentoring or leading small teams (2–3 engineers)
• Proficiency with design software such as Civil 3D or 12D
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Applicants must have full working rights in New Zealand
