About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing civil engineering team supporting a diverse range of site development and infrastructure projects across the Southeast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed engineer who enjoys being technically involved while also taking ownership of projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring junior engineers. The position offers work-from-home flexibility while providing the opportunity to work on projects involving site development, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater, and related civil infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, communicating directly with project stakeholders, and taking responsibility for the quality and progress of civil engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering and site development components of assigned projects.

• Prepare and review civil construction documents, including:

• Site grading plans

• Utility plans

• Erosion and sediment control plans

• Drainage and stormwater plans

• Construction details

• Existing conditions and survey information

• Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical consultants, architects, structural engineers, mechanical/electrical disciplines, and other project stakeholders.

• Review projects at key design milestones and ensure plans meet project requirements and applicable standards.

• Assist with permitting and address technical comments from reviewing agencies.

• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide technical support during construction.

• Participate in site visits and construction administration activities when required.

• Review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

• Help coordinate project scope, schedules, priorities, and deliverables.

• Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.

• Identify design issues and develop practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia required.
• Strong experience in civil/site development engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater, and erosion control design.
• Familiarity with hydrology/hydraulic analysis and related civil engineering software.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or managing civil design tasks.
• Strong understanding of civil construction documents, permitting, and design processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior Civil Engineer and licensed PE who can take a project from initial civil design through construction support. You should be comfortable making technical decisions, coordinating with other disciplines, reviewing plans, communicating with clients and project teams, and helping less-experienced engineers develop their skills.
