Job Overview

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Civil Engineers to support major infrastructure and civil engineering projects, including HS2.

The ideal candidates will have a strong background in large-scale civil engineering, with extensive hands-on experience in drainage, earthworks, bulk muck shifting and major groundworks packages.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who have worked on complex infrastructure schemes and can demonstrate strong technical knowledge, site management capabilities and the ability to deliver works safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate site engineering activities across major civil engineering projects.
• Manage and monitor drainage installation and associated infrastructure works.
• Supervise earthworks, bulk excavation, muck shifting and groundworks operations.
• Set out works and ensure construction activities comply with drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractors, plant, labour and materials to maintain project progress.
• Carry out site inspections, quality checks and surveying activities.
• Maintain accurate site records, as-built information and engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, quality standards and project procedures.
• Liaise with site management, project teams and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor progress against programme and ensure works are delivered to the required standards.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in civil engineering, preferably in a senior or site engineering position.
• Proven experience in drainage, earthworks, bulk muck shifting and large-scale groundworks.
• Experience working on major infrastructure or large civils projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and setting-out procedures.
• Ability to coordinate site activities and work effectively with project teams.
• Good understanding of health and safety and quality assurance procedures.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working on HS2 or other major UK infrastructure projects.
• Experience with bulk earthworks, deep drainage, utilities and complex civils packages.
• Relevant civil engineering qualifications.
• Appropriate CSCS card and relevant site certifications.
