Bon La Vie Hotels & Resorts is building a new 55-key hotel and resort at Village Ninora, Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), targeted for opening ahead of Simhastha 2028. The G+6 structure (~58,000 sq ft) is being executed by an Indore-based civil contractor on a fast-track programme. We are building a small, senior owner-side team to make sure it is built right.

About the role

You are the Owner's eyes, hands and signature on site. The contractor builds; you decide whether what has been built may proceed to the next step. Your job is to make sure the hotel is built exactly to the structural and architectural drawings, that nothing is cast until it has been checked, that the material going in is what the contract specifies, and that the Owner knows the true state of progress every week.

What you will do

• Check setting-out, formwork and reinforcement of every element against drawings; sign or withhold the pour card for every concrete pour — no pour without your signature.
• Run the Inspection & Test Plan: hold points, cube sampling, curing, formwork stripping per IS 456, post-pour inspection; raise and close Non-Conformance Reports.
• Own the post-tensioned slab interface between the PT agency and the contractor: sequence, stressing permit, stripping.
• Coordinate MEP embeds, sleeves and cut-outs into the civil work before slabs are cast.
• Maintain the GFC drawing register; raise RFIs to the Architect / Structural Engineer the same day a conflict is found.
• Track progress against the master programme; send a daily progress report with photos and a one-page weekly report to the Owner.
• Enforce site safety and verify the contractor's insurances and statutory compliance.
• Lead a QA/QC & Billing Engineer; countersign measurements and bill certification.

Must have

• B.E./B.Tech Civil with 8+ years, or Diploma Civil with 12+ years, of site execution
• Supervised at least one RCC-framed building of G+4 or higher from foundation to structure completion
• Working knowledge of IS 456, IS 1786, IS 383 and formwork / scaffolding safety
• Reads structural and architectural drawings independently
• Has stopped work before and can explain why
• Fluent Hindi; reports in English or Hindi

Good to have

• Client-side or PMC experience (not only contractor-side)
• Experience in hotel and institutional building projects.
• Post-tensioned slab exposure
• Familiar with Ujjain / Indore suppliers and NABL labs

Your authority

You can hold any pour, stop non-conforming or unsafe work, reject material and order defective work removed — in writing, backed by the contract. Commercial decisions (rates, extras, time) stay with the Director, so the contractor can never say “your engineer agreed”.
