Minecon Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a well-regarded growing civil contractor in South East Queensland to appoint a Senior Estimator. This is a business with real momentum, a growing pipeline of complex civil and infrastructure work and a strong leadership team.

The Business

This contractor has built a strong reputation across technically demanding civil works in South East Queensland and NSW. Their project portfolio spans TMR road and infrastructure programmes, major Infrastructure, and private development with individual project values reaching $60m.

The Role

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you'll lead tenders from first review through to submission and handover to delivery. You'll be across complex, multi-discipline scopes and expected to bring both technical depth and commercial sharpness to every bid.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Leading end-to-end preparation of civil and infrastructure tenders up to $60m
• Detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates using CostX
• Reviewing drawings, geotechnical reports, specifications and tender documentation
• Developing construction methodologies and identifying project risks and opportunities
• Sourcing, assessing and managing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Preparing BOQs, rate schedules and detailed tender submissions
• Contributing to tender reviews, risk workshops and clarification processes
• Supporting structured handover to the project delivery team on awarded work

About You

We're looking for an experienced Civil Estimator with a good understanding of how projects are actually delivered on site and the ability to accurately price complex civil works.

You'll ideally have:

• Minimum 5 years' estimating experience with a civil contractor of similar scope and scale
• Strong experience pricing civil and infrastructure projects
• Experience across structures, bulk earthworks, drainage, roads, piling and associated civil works
• Previous exposure to TMR projects highly regarded
• Experience using CostX estimating software
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project costs and commercial risk
• Experience obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Ability to work through drawings, specifications and tender documentation in detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with both estimating and project delivery teams
• A practical approach and good understanding of what it takes to deliver projects on site
• Strong commercial acumen, you understand risk, margin, and what it takes to win the right work
• Self-sufficient enough to own a tender, collaborative enough to contribute to a team
