Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud & Solutions Architect to define technology strategy, guide architectural decisions, and drive cloud modernization across a complex software engineering environment. This role combines cloud architecture expertise, custom application development knowledge, and technical leadership to establish scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a true architect who can shape future-state technology, lead cloud migration strategy, establish engineering standards, and influence technical teams across the organization. This individual will partner with engineering leaders and business stakeholders to translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve cloud and application architecture strategies, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.
• Guide cloud infrastructure design, observability, CI/CD, security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Lead architectural planning for cloud migrations, including application modernization, infrastructure, integration, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical direction for custom software applications, Java/Spring environments, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Establish architecture standards, reusable design patterns, coding guidelines, and DevSecOps practices across engineering teams.
• Mentor and coach technical leads and engineers, driving collaboration and adoption of consistent engineering practices.
• Present technical recommendations and architectural trade-offs to executives and business stakeholders, addressing cost, timelines, risks, and resource requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions to support innovation and long-term business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud architecture, solutions architecture, software architecture, or a similar senior technical leadership role.
• Strong cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure design, observability, CI/CD, security, and cost management.
• Strong understanding of custom application development, Java-based applications, distributed systems, and modern software architecture.
• Experience leading or significantly contributing to holistic cloud migration or platform modernization initiatives.
• Broad technical knowledge across application development, infrastructure, databases, networking, security, and DevSecOps.
• Demonstrated success establishing architecture standards and influencing multiple engineering teams.
• Ability to mentor technical leads and engineers and drive alignment without relying solely on formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts and business implications to executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS tenancy management or multi-tenant environments.
• Familiarity with Java/Spring, React, PostgreSQL, Oracle/PLSQL, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
• Experience with consumer-facing digital platforms or mobile applications.
• Background in automotive technology, telematics, connected vehicles, or IoT.
• Relevant cloud architecture, DevOps, or cloud security certifications.

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with three days onsite and two days remote.
• Occasional early-morning or evening meetings to collaborate with international teams.
• A highly visible technical leadership role with opportunities to shape architecture strategy, modernize platforms, and influence engineering practices across the organization.

Compensation: $90 to $100 an hour

Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications .
