Senior Cloud Engineer - Azure Platform

Application deadline: Sept. 20, 2026

Location: Oslo, Norway

Join us in building the platform that powers payments, and help shape how AI transforms everything we do.

At Vipps MobilePay, our Platform & AI area builds the rock-solid foundation our products rely on. We design, maintain, and evolve the cloud platform that keeps our services secure, scalable, and lightning-fast.

Now we’re taking the next step: bringing AI into the heart of our platform. That means giving our product teams safe, governed, developer-friendly access to LLMs and shared AI capabilities — and we’d love your help to make it happen.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in building and running our cloud platform, with a mix of infrastructure engineering, automation, and AI enablement.

Here’s some of the things you’ll be working on:

• Shape our cloud platform: Build and operate core infrastructure in Azure — especially AKS and Azure PaaS services.
• Enable AI across the company: Extend the platform with secure, well-governed AI capabilities that make it easy (and responsible!) for teams to use LLMs and shared AI services.
• Write infrastructure as code: Use Terraform and/or Bicep to create modular, reusable infra that’s fully version-controlled.
• Automate where possible: Use GitOps tooling like Argo CD, Helm, and Kustomize to deliver platform changes quickly and safely.
• Keep things secure: Own identity and access patterns, secrets management, and network controls using Azure-native and Kubernetes primitives.
• Make it reliable: Build for high availability, safe rollouts, and cost-efficient scaling.
• Collaborate closely: Work with architecture, product, and security teams to translate needs into platform capabilities that just work.
• Keep improving: Help shape our internal standards and platform roadmaps as we grow.

Skills & Requirements

We're looking for a senior cloud engineer who is pragmatic, collaborative, and passionate about building reliable platforms.

You don’t need to tick every box, but we think you'll thrive if you have:

• Strong hands-on experience running production workloads in Azure, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform as a core tool
• Confidence designing, evolving, and maintaining reusable Terraform modules and cloud foundations
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes, networking, identity, security, and observability in Azure
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps workflows, and automated infrastructure delivery
• A focus on secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud platforms
• Familiarity with autoscaling, cost optimisation, and capacity management
• Great communication skills and a collaborative, down-to-earth style
• A bias for automation, simplification, and measurable impact

About the company

We make payments very, very simple. Safe, seamless, and done in a flash - just the way it should be.

We’re a Nordic mobile wallet built from two strong foundations: Vipps in Norway and MobilePay in Denmark. Both started with the same idea to make sending money as easy as sending a text. Today, we’ve come together as one of the largest mobile wallets in Europe, making everyday payments easier for millions of people.

We also make it easy for our merchants and partners to dream big, no matter the size of their business.

To keep building the best products for everyone, we believe everyone should be part of creating them. Simple as that. That’s why we welcome people of all backgrounds, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations,

ethnicities, religions, abilities, and ages.

If this sounds like a place where you’d feel at home, we’d love to hear from you.
