Senior Cloud Engineer

Context

We are seeking an autonomous Senior Cloud Engineer to design and scale the infrastructure for a new Platform. In this role, you will mainly work on an AWS cloud environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, performance, monitoring, and cost-efficiency of cloud platforms. The focus is on delivering robust, high-quality cloud solutions with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Missions

• Design and deploy robust AWS cloud architecture using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Master the end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle for the new lockers platform.

• Bridge central AWS cloud services with local, physical lockers deployed on-site.

• Monitor, maintain, and ensure the high availability of cloud infrastructure and services.

• Manage incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root cause analysis.

• Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.

• Optimize deployment workflows, support CI/CD platforms, and automate operational tasks for high reliability.

• Ensure robust cloud security, regulatory compliance, and proactive patch management.

• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.

• Collaborate with software teams, providing technical guidance on cloud best practices.

• Maintain clear documentation for system architecture, automation workflows, and protocols.

Core Focus

• AWS Architecture: Design, automate, and scale the core AWS cloud environment.

• Platform Ownership: Work independently to build out the new lockers platform infrastructure.

• Optional: Familiarity with Kafka/event platforms without needing deep operational mastery.

• AWS services with focus on networking, security, and scalability

• Scripting in Python and Bash

• Version control using Git

• Kafka or similar event streaming platforms (conceptual knowledge)

• Bonus: Docker and ECS

• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Associate level certificates)

1. 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps
2. If offshore: 10+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering
3. 5+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS services, focusing on networking, security, and scalability
4. Proven track record of working independently and taking full ownership of projects
5. Strong Terraform proficiency for building Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
6. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch
7. Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket pipelines)
8. Robust scripting skills in Python and Bash, alongside version control proficiency using Git
9. Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms (conceptual knowledge is fine)
10. High autonomy and proactive self-starter who delivers results with minimal supervision
