Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS) Remote

About the role

MVSI a global SAAS Regtech is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to take hands-on ownership of our global AWS infrastructure. You will be accountable for the operational quality of our cloud platform: its security, availability, performance, resilience, scalability and cost efficiency. You will assess our current environment, identify risks and opportunities, establish strong cloud engineering practices and personally implement meaningful improvements. The position is fully remote within Malaysia and primarily operates during normal business hours. Because you will own critical production infrastructure, you must also be able to assist with serious incidents outside normal hours when escalated.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and improve our global production and non-production AWS infrastructure
• Strengthen cloud security, access controls, network security, encryption, logging and secrets management
• Improve platform availability, redundancy, scalability and performance
• Establish effective monitoring, alerting and operational dashboards
• Investigate infrastructure incidents and eliminate their underlying causes
• Own backups, restoration procedures, disaster recovery planning and recovery testing
• Implement infrastructure as code and automate repeatable operational activities
• Support secure, controlled and reliable deployment pipelines
• Monitor AWS expenditure and actively identify cost-optimisation opportunities
• Maintain architecture diagrams, technical standards, operational runbooks and recovery documentation

About you

• Strong hands-on experience designing, operating and securing production environments in AWS
• Experience owning critical cloud infrastructure for a SaaS or other online production platform
• Strong AWS networking, IAM, monitoring, logging, backup and security knowledge
• Infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or an equivalent tool
• Experience improving production availability, resilience and disaster recovery
• Experience responding to incidents, performing root-cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes
• Practical experience managing and optimising AWS costs
• Knowledge of CI/CD, source control and automated deployment practices
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
• Clear written and spoken English and the discipline required to succeed in a fully remote role
