Senior Construction Manager

About the role

Binastra Land Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction projects from initiation through completion. As Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, Leads the on-site delivery of high-rise building projects from substructure to handover. Owns construction methodology, sequencing, programme, site logistics, and workmanship, and directs the site team and subcontractors to build safely, to specification, and on time. Site-based, This role is integral to the success of our construction operations and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining excellence across all our developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction of high-rise works across all phases: piling, basement, superstructure, façade, architectural finishes, MEP, and external works.

• Plan construction methodology and sequencing, including deep basement excavation and shoring, core wall construction, typical floor cycle, and topping out.

• Develop, own, and drive the construction programme; set and achieve floor cycle targets; identify slippage early and implement recovery plans.

• Plan vertical transportation and site logistics: tower cranes, passenger/material hoists, concrete pumping and placing booms, material laydown, and deliveries on a congested site.

• Oversee temporary works and formwork systems (jump/climbing form, table form, aluminium form, shoring, scaffolding, loading platforms) with the temporary works designer.

• Review method statements, shop drawings, and technical submittals; resolve constructability issues and RFIs with the architect, engineers, and consultants.

• Coordinate structural, architectural, façade, and MEP trades; chair site coordination meetings and close out services clashes and interface issues.

• Lead, assign, and develop the site team: construction managers, site engineers, supervisors, and foremen.

• Manage subcontractor performance on programme, manpower, plant, and workmanship; issue instructions and escalate non-performance.

• Enforce quality to specifications and approved drawings: inspection and test plans, hold points, concrete and rebar testing, and closure of non-conformances.

• Plan high-risk construction activities (work at height, lifting operations, edge protection, façade installation) together with the safety team.

• Report construction progress, look-ahead plans, and key risks to the Project Director and client; attend consultant and authority site meetings.

• Drive testing and commissioning, authority inspections, defects rectification, and handover through to CCC.

• Others Ad-Hoc required by the Management.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building, or Construction Management.

• Minimum 12 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in a senior site leadership role.

• Proven track record delivering at least two high-rise buildings (30 storeys and above) from substructure to handover.

• Strong technical knowledge of deep basements, RC core and frame construction, post-tensioned slabs, climbing formwork, precast/IBS, and curtain wall systems.

• Hands-on experience planning tower crane, hoist, and concrete placing operations for high-rise construction.

• Able to read and interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings; proficient in Primavera P6 or MS Project.

• Strong leadership, able to drive a large workforce and multiple subcontractors under schedule pressure.

• Valid CIDB Green Card.

• Valid driver's license.
