What they need

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER Reports to: Vice Project Director / Project Director

Engagement: Temporary contract; 3–6 months through project close-out and demobilisation

Location: Site-based with Jakarta rotation (6/2 rota)

Role Description The construction phase is now about completing remaining works, clearing defect and non-conformance items, and executing demobilisation - all while maintaining site safety, quality, and progress momentum through to final handover. The Senior Construction Manager owns all of this on the site.

Key Responsibilities Area Activities Site construction leadership Overall responsibility for all construction execution on site - across all camps and workfronts (accommodation blocks, mess halls, kitchens, laundries, utilities, earthworks, infrastructure, and associated facilities). Set the daily construction tempo and ensure all workfronts are properly supervised. Workfront and schedule management Drive workfront sequencing and daily progress against the current schedule baseline; coordinate with the planning team to keep activities on track through the close-out period; manage the construction sequence to achieve remaining milestone completions. Subcontractor construction coordination Coordinate all construction subcontractors on site - scope clarity, mobilisation and demobilisation sequencing, workfront handovers, and punch-list clearance. Work alongside the Contract Manager on the commercial-subcontractor interface to ensure commercial and construction positions are aligned. Sub-contractor coordination Day-to-day coordination with the onshore sub-contractor team on shared workfronts, asset and equipment transition, scaffolding retention, and retention timing through close-out. Remaining works and handover completion Drive completion and provisional acceptance of remaining scope packages - with particular focus on camp facilities (kitchen capacity ramp-up, laundry completion, accommodation certification), plant area works, and demobilisation scope. Manage punch-list clearance across all facilities. Quality, defects, and non-conformance Own site quality performance; drive resolution of open defects and non-conformances (including HVAC/noise/temperature issues in completed facilities); ensure SV&O (Self-Verification & Oversight) programme and Right-First-Time compliance are maintained per contract quality requirements. HSSE and site standards Maintain HSSE compliance across all site activities; ensure site safety culture holds through the close-out period; address any client HSSE or monitoring concerns that arise. Leadership and staffing Establish and communicate a clear construction leadership structure that meets the client's expectations on middle management strength and leadership continuity. Manage construction team rotations, direct manpower deployment, and ensure adequate supervision levels across all workfronts. Support the redeployment of available experienced personnel into critical roles as directed by management. Progress reporting Lead weekly construction progress reporting; provide accurate construction status for project leadership, client meetings, and close-out submissions. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline; Master's preferred
  • Minimum 12–15 years construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a Senior Construction Manager or equivalent Construction Manager role on large-scale projects
  • EPC or oil & gas / energy infrastructure construction experience strongly preferred - LNG, gas processing, or similar industrial plant experience is directly relevant
  • Proven experience managing large temporary construction camps - accommodation blocks, mess halls, kitchens, laundries, and utilities - in remote or temporary-site environments
  • Strong hands-on site leadership style; able to manage subcontractors, direct labour, and sub-contractor interfaces simultaneously
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Willing to be site-based in a remote location for the duration of the contract
  • Experience engaging with client expectations on organisation structure, leadership continuity, and middle management strength

Preferred ( Not Essential )

  • Prior experience on major energy infrastructure projects in Indonesia
  • Experience with RFU / facility-based completion and provisional acceptance processes
  • Familiarity with remote-site logistics and camp operations
