Senior Construction Project Engineer

Overview

UJAMAA Construction is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Construction Project Engineer to lead and manage complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This pivotal role demands a proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced construction environments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with safety and quality standards. As a Senior Construction Project Engineer, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee project schedules, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all construction regulations. Your expertise will drive project success and foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Duties

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
• Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and cost estimates utilizing project management software such as Primavera P6, Procore, Prolog, HeavyBid, and other construction management tools.
• Oversee daily construction site activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and regulatory compliance is maintained across all phases of the project.
• Manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes while maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with project specifications.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to review blueprints and construction plans for accuracy and feasibility.
• Monitor project progress through regular site inspections, progress reports, and schedule updates; adjust plans proactively to mitigate delays or issues.
• Lead project teams by assigning tasks effectively, managing resources efficiently, and fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality delivery.
• Ensure all construction activities meet industry standards and local regulations while maintaining high safety standards at all times.

Skills

• 2+ years experience with construction estimating, scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.), and project management tools such as Procore and Prolog.
• Strong knowledge of construction regulations, safety standards, and regulatory compliance specific to heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, construction plans review, and interpreting technical drawings such as Civil 3D files.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex infrastructure projects involving multiple stakeholders while maintaining cost control through effective budget management.
• Skilled in managing teams in a construction management role with excellent leadership qualities and time management skills.
• Expertise in contract administration, change management processes, and construction regulatory compliance procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills for clear project coordination and stakeholder engagement across diverse teams.
