What To Expect in this Role

As an Owner’s Representative supporting the Tenant Fit-Out construction of a major hyperscale data center campus, you’ll work onsite as an integrated member of the Tenant’s project team, providing the project leadership, technical judgment, coordination, and follow-through required to keep complex construction moving.

  • Own assigned project responsibilities across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, documentation, and closeout, maintaining clear visibility into project status and upcoming priorities.
  • Serve as a key point of coordination among client stakeholders, construction managers, general contractors, trade partners, design teams, vendors, commissioning teams, and other project partners.
  • Oversee construction execution and proactively identify schedule, procurement, quality, coordination, constructability, and technical risks before they affect critical milestones.
  • Coordinate complex MEP and mission-critical infrastructure, including interfaces among electrical, mechanical, controls, equipment, and supporting building systems.
  • Track project schedules, critical milestones, constraints, long-lead equipment, dependencies, and contractor commitments, driving action when performance begins to slip.
  • Support procurement, equipment delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Drive critical project workflows including RFIs, submittals, change management, action items, issue resolution, project documentation, and stakeholder decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely daily and weekly project reporting, clearly communicating progress, risks, decisions, outstanding actions, and upcoming activities.
  • Participate in project and OAC meetings, drive assigned action items to closure, and ensure commitments are documented and followed through.
  • Anticipate problems and bring forward clear options and recommendations rather than waiting for direction.
  • Communicate proactively with the client and project leadership regarding schedule impacts, site issues, absences, changing conditions, or anything that could affect project execution.
  • Represent the owner professionally onsite and build strong working relationships across the project team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical field preferred; PMP, PE, CCM, or similar professional credentials are a plus.
  • 10+ years of construction/project management experience, with significant responsibility for complex construction execution.
  • Demonstrated data center or mission-critical construction experience required; hyperscale data center experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing technically complex projects involving electrical, mechanical, controls, and mission-critical infrastructure systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, schedules, procurement, long-lead equipment, RFIs, submittals, change management, QA/QC, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage project priorities and maintain accountability across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including concise client reporting and the ability to escalate issues with clear recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with owners, contractors, engineers, vendors, commissioning teams, and field personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and construction/project management platforms; experience with scheduling and document-control systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proactive, accountable, highly organized, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Abilene, Texas during traditional construction hours Monday-Friday, with rotating weekend assignments as required.
