Senior Contracts Manager

About the role

The Senior Contracts Manager oversees all contractual and commercial aspects of construction projects. The role is responsible for managing contracts from award to final account, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, controlling project risks, and maximizing commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop contracts team
• Manage and administer all project contracts from commencement to final account
• Review contract documents, conditions, specifications, and scope of works
• Evaluate, prepare, and negotiate variation orders arising from design changes, site conditions, or client instructions
• Prepare, assess, and manage contractual claims including Extension of Time (EOT) and loss & expense claims
• Oversee preparation and submission of monthly progress claims and verify completed works for accurate valuation
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, and actual expenditures throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare and present monthly management reports covering project financial performance
• Review and manage subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and supplier contracts
• Manage all contractual correspondence including notices, instructions, and formal communications

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• 8–12 years of experience in tendering, contracts management, or a similar role in the construction industry
• Proven track record in managing complex contracts, claims, and disputes
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• In-depth knowledge of tendering processes and procurement procedures
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and contract administration
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in contract management software and related tools

Working Hours:

Mondays to Saturdays: 8:30am - 5:30pm (alternate Saturday off)
