Senior Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze product and manufacturing cost calculations, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Monitor and analyze actual vs. standard costs and investigate significant variances.
• Prepare monthly cost accounting reports, variance analysis, and management reports.
• Maintain and update standard costs, cost sheets, and bills of materials (BOM).
• Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and analysis of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate cost data.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting and inventory.
• Review manufacturing expenses and ensure proper cost allocation and accounting treatment.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards and controls.
• Provide financial and cost analysis to management to support business and operational decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing costing, and inventory accounting.
• Experience in standard costing, variance analysis, cost allocation, and inventory valuation.
• Familiarity with BOM, standard cost, actual cost, labor cost, material cost, and manufacturing overhead.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reports.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data and provide actionable cost insights.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet monthly closing and reporting deadlines.
• CPA license or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
