Senior Cost Control Engineer

About the role

This role involves reviewing, verifying, and understanding BOQ (Bill of Quantities), TOR, and checking quantities of materials and machinery to ensure accuracy according to actual project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify, and understand BOQ (Bill of Quantities), TOR, and check quantities of materials and machinery for accuracy according to actual project requirements
• Collaborate with suppliers to assess work scope and explain TOR and BOQ for mutual understanding before quotation submission
• Summarize material costs and labour costs, and prepare and update market prices
• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers appropriate to project budget
• Develop cost savings with vendors through technical and negotiation approaches, and conduct value engineering to improve construction efficiency
• Monitor, track, and inspect work delivery according to planned BOQ and TOR for payment milestone claims
• Manage supplier contracts
• Review, verify, and evaluate pricing for additional and reduced work from contractors
• Receive project development information from relevant departments to prepare budgets for project budget proposals
• Develop forms and work procedures in compliance with ISO 9001

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering)
• 3–5 years or more of experience in Procurement Engineer, Project Engineer Manager, or Cost Control roles
• Knowledge of cost estimation and costing: quantity take-offs, material and labour cost calculations, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTable, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Complex Formulas, Financial Modeling)
• Meticulous attention to detail with ability to identify financial risks in advance from data and figures
