- Provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders on contractual matters, risk allocation, and compliance
- Train non-legal personnel to identify contractual risk before signature
- Support due diligence on acquisitions as well as on new customers and opportunities
- Perform legal research into issues arising in the jurisdictions where the Company operates
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve contracting policies, procedures, and workflows
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting the Company's operations
- Other responsibilities as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and eligibility to register or be admitted as in-house counsel in the state of the assigned office
- 6+ years of practice in a law firm or in-house legal department
- One of the following:
o Complex contract review, analysis, drafting, and negotiation experience; or
o Litigation experience, including construction and/or engineering claims, handling matters from intake through resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of matters independently
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
- Construction, infrastructure, energy, or utility industry experience under either path described above
- Comfort adopting technology, including AI-assisted tools, in contract review and negotiation workflows
