Senior CRM Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend/CRM Developer to design, develop, customise, integrate, and maintain web-based CRM systems and business applications. The role is focused on hands-on backend development using PHP/Laravel and Node.js, database development, API integrations, automation, and reliable deployment and maintenance.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working on custom CRM applications rather than simply configuring off-the-shelf CRM products. They should be able to understand business requirements, build scalable backend solutions, integrate third-party services, troubleshoot production issues, and take ownership of complex development tasks.

Key Responsibilities

01)CRM & Backend Development

· Design, develop, customise, and maintain custom CRM applications and backend systems.

· Build custom modules, features, workflows, dashboards, reports, and business logic.

· Develop and maintain backend services primarily using PHP/Laravel and Node.js.

· Translate business requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.

· Write clean, reusable, secure, and scalable backend code.

· Improve existing CRM functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

02)API Integrations & Automation

· Develop and maintain REST API integrations with third-party services and business systems.

· Work with webhooks, API authentication, JSON, and external service integrations.

· Integrate CRM systems with websites, payment gateways, email services, communication platforms, and other required business tools.

· Build automated workflows for lead management, customer communication, notifications, follow-ups, and internal business processes.

· Troubleshoot API failures, synchronisation problems, authentication issues, and data inconsistencies.

03)Database & Data Management

· Design and maintain relational database structures for CRM and business applications.

· Work extensively with MySQL and write efficient SQL queries.

· Optimise database queries, indexes, and application performance.

· Handle data migrations, imports, validation, cleansing, and synchronisation.

· Implement appropriate data access controls and secure handling of business data.

04)System Maintenance & Troubleshooting

· Investigate and resolve application bugs, backend errors, integration failures, and production issues.

· Monitor application performance and identify areas for improvement.

· Perform application upgrades, maintenance, refactoring, and technical improvements.

· Work with Linux-based hosting/server environments and troubleshoot deployment-related issues.

· Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards.

05)Deployment, Git & Development Practices

· Use Git for source control and follow a structured development and deployment workflow.

· Work with development and production environments and support deployment pipelines.

· Debug and test changes before handing work over for QA/testing.

· Participate in code reviews and maintain development quality standards.

· Follow secure coding, versioning, backup, and deployment practices.

06)Collaboration & Technical Leadership

· Work with management, project teams, testers, and other developers to understand and deliver CRM requirements.

· Break business requirements into technical tasks and practical implementation plans.

· Review code and help maintain consistent development standards across the team.

· Guide junior developers and share technical knowledge where required.

· Take ownership of assigned development tasks, timelines, and deliverables.

Required Technical Skills

· Strong professional experience in backend/web application development.

· Strong hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel.

· Good working experience with Node.js and JavaScript.

· Strong knowledge of MySQL and relational database design.

· Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and third-party integrations.

· Experience with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, API keys, tokens, and session-based authentication.

· Strong Git and version-control experience.

· Experience debugging, testing, and troubleshooting backend applications.

· Understanding of MVC architecture, OOP, design patterns, and clean code principles.

· Experience working with Linux/server environments and basic deployment concepts.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Technical Experience

· Experience building or maintaining CRM, ERP, SaaS, or other business management applications.

· Experience with Laravel queues, jobs, scheduled tasks, events, notifications, and background processing.

· Experience with Redis or similar caching/queue technologies.

· Experience with Docker or other development/deployment tooling.

· Experience with Nginx/Apache, PHP-FPM, SSL, DNS, and production web hosting environments.

· Experience integrating payment gateways, email platforms, SMS/WhatsApp services, telephony systems, or other business APIs.

· Experience working with cloud hosting or VPS environments.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

· 6+ years of professional backend/web development experience.

· Experience working with international clients or software development teams.

· Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
