Senior Customer Applications Engineer

About The Role Grayson's North American business is growing, and it is looking for a Senior Customer Applications Engineer to become its senior technical presence across the region. You will be the technical link between North American customers, the local commercial team, and Grayson's UK engineering, quality, manufacturing and customer service teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical presentations on Grayson's products, system performance and proposed solutions
• Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers as a trusted technical adviser
• Capture and document customer requirements for new projects and applications
• Work with Design and Engineering teams to develop concepts and bespoke technical solutions for customer approval
• Own and coordinate the North America customer applications engineering function
• Act as the senior technical escalation point and prioritise technical activity across the region
• Support customer installations and commissioning
• Provide on-site and remote support for first system installs and customer start-ups
• Support system performance testing against customer requirements and agreed specifications

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience as an Applications Engineer, Customer Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar customer-facing engineering role
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience preparing technical proposals, specifications and customer presentations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong project coordination and organisational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Valid US driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively

Desirable Experience

• Manufacturing, automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, rail, HVAC, industrial systems or engineered-product environments
• Vehicle thermal management, HVAC, battery cooling or electrification
• Product testing, validation, installation or commissioning
• Quality tools such as PDCA, 8D, FMEA and Root Cause Analysis
