Senior Data and System Improvement Specialist

Position Description:

Works on advancing finance reporting and analysis, enhancing accounting processes, and streamlining reporting.

The Senior Data and System Improvement Specialist will design and maintain advanced Sales Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights for management.

Work on automating key accounting processes such as reconciliations, data consolidation and updates, and financial reporting to reduce manual workloads and improve accuracy. This involves creating dynamic dashboards and reports to track key financial metrics (e.g., profitability, cash flow, AR, and AP trends.

Job Function:

The following is a detailed, but not exhaustive, listing of the hands-on tasks you will undertake in the role:

· Establish and explore all possible options for designing and deriving the best software solution.

· Conducts data gathering for internally initiated projects or management requests

· Develop software according to functional and technical design specifications.

· Create and design databases, views, stored procedures, T-SQL statements, and user-defined functions of varying complexity with a “best practices” approach to keys, indices, and relationships in SQL.

· Assesses, troubleshoots, documents, upgrades, and develops maintenance procedures; Reviews code(s) for potential performance issues, reusability, and/or anomalies.

· Provides high-level support to software-related system disturbances and other contingencies.

· Supports database system maintenance to assure business continuity.

· Pre-Evaluate and Respond to Change Requests.

· Assist in the continual improvement of the Finance and Accounting Department.

Other Task

Provide brief training sessions to finance team members on utilizing Power BI.

Act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.

Required Candidate Attributes:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Progressive work experience in successful software project management

· Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.

· Knowledgeable with various types of software development tools.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or accounting process improvement roles.

· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality in all outputs.

· Expertise in data modeling, database management, and ETL processes.

· Knowledge of automation tools.

· Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel functions.
