Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Define and govern data architecture strategies, standards and methodologies for Data Platform hosted data solutions / applications

• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, blueprints, and reference architectures

• Design end-to-end data solutions including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Lakehouse architectures on Azure Databricks

• Provide solution architecture for complex data integration, migration, and transformation projects

• Ensure alignment with Allianz enterprise architecture frameworks, security guardrails and compliance requirements

• Support data architecture reviews and provide technical mentorship to Data Engineers

• Collaborate with global stakeholders including OE teams, Tech Leads / Architects and senior management

• Support platform strategy decisions (Databricks) and evaluate emerging technologies

• Provide application and OE support governance, ensuring operational excellence across data lifecycle / environments

Leverage AI tools (E.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI) in everyday work to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, enhance documentation, and improve overall productivity and quality of deliverables.

Job Requirement

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering, with at least 3 years in an architect role.

• Deep expertise in Azure Databricks (E.g. Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Medallion architecture, Lakeflow services)

• Databricks certification(s) (E.g. Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate / Professional)

• Strong experience with Azure cloud services (E.g. Data Factory, Synapse, Azure ML, DevOps) and Apache Kafka

• Proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise data solutions / data products

• Expertise in data modelling (Dimensional, Data Vault, 3NF),

• Experience and / or knowledge in domain driven architecture (Data Mesh)

• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and data security

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark

• Hands-on experience working with AI tools (E.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI) in everyday tasks such as architecture design, documentation, research, solution evaluation and productivity enhancement

• Experience in BI reporting and analytics using Power BI and/or Databricks AI/BI Dashboards

• Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum)

• Experience in banking, financial services or insurance industry is preferred

• Demonstrated experience working in large multinational corporations with complex, distributed environments

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and time zones

• Technical leadership and mentoring capabilities
