Senior Data Business Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business & Data Analyst to join a Data Insight team and contribute to the transformation and modernization of a large-scale data ecosystem.

In this role, you will act as a strategic bridge between business stakeholders and Data Engineering teams , ensuring that business requirements are translated into effective, scalable and reliable data solutions.

A key part of the position will be to lead and maintain existing enterprise reporting solutions within a legacy SAP BW environment , while contributing to the design and implementation of modern data solutions based on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery .

Key Responsibilities :

Business & Data Analysis

• Gather, analyze and translate business needs into detailed data requirements .
• Define data mappings, transformation rules, KPIs and dashboard requirements .
• Develop comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications .
• Document data flows, extractors, data lineage and integration requirements.
• Act as the main interface between business stakeholders and technical Data teams .
• Perform impact and exploratory data analysis and provide relevant datasets, dashboards or insights to business users.

Data Solution Design & Analysis

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and document conceptual and logical data models .
• Use SQL to profile source data, validate business rules and perform data quality assessments.
• Contribute to the design of solutions integrating with the BigQuery Enterprise Data Warehouse .
• Ensure functional consistency across legacy SAP BW reporting and modern cloud-based data solutions.
• Design and execute test scenarios to validate developments and prevent regressions.
• Work closely with DWH Developers, Data Engineers, DataViz specialists and Data Science teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.

SAP BW, Reporting & Support

• Maintain and support existing enterprise reporting solutions within SAP BW .
• Provide expert support for the legacy SAP BW environment while helping define smooth migration paths towards modern cloud architectures.
• Lead root-cause analysis for data discrepancies and pipeline failures .
• Maintain governance over reporting assets, KPIs and the business glossary , in collaboration with the Data Governance team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands-on expertise with SAP BW 7.5 on HANA .
• Strong knowledge of SAP BW components including:
• Datasources
• Advanced DataStore Objects ( ADSOs )
• CompositeProviders
• InfoObjects
• Process Chains
• OpenHub extraction
• BEx Queries
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse principles , including dimensional modelling, ETL and Enterprise Data Models.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins.
• Strong experience with data manipulation and data modelling .
• Experience developing or using BI solutions such as MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau or similar.
• Good understanding of Data Visualization concepts and best practices.
• Understanding of modern Big Data / Cloud technologies such as GCP or Azure .
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders .
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and core modelling algorithms .
• Previous experience within the Retail industry .
• Experience with SAP Retail MM and SD modules .

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in:

• English
