Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our client’s team in Paris on a full-time contract basis. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning initiatives.

This is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale data engineering projects within an international environment, with the potential for a long-term engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines for large-scale data processing.
• Build and optimise data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming platforms.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable and accessible data.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and compliance with governance and security standards.
• Automate workflows and implement monitoring solutions for data processes.
• Support data migration and integration projects across cloud and on-premises environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Kafka, and Spark.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of machine learning and MLOps.
• Familiarity with data governance, GDPR compliance, and security best practices.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
