Senior Data Engineer - Business Intelligence

About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. You will be responsible for Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure for seamless data flow, security, and user insights. Design efficient pipelines, APIs, and analytics to support real-time, personalized experiences in a dynamic environment.

What you’ll do

• Develop/optimize data pipelines for low-latency, real-time ETL/ELT delivery.
• Architect secure, scalable APIs with auth, authorization, and data security.
• Analyze datasets for personalized content/recommendations and UX enhancements.
• Collaborate with data scientists, PMs, engineers to translate needs into solutions.
• Manage infrastructure: monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade for reliability/scalability; recommend new tech.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 3–5+ years in hands-on data engineering.

• Proficient in Python and SQL; working knowledge of Java/Scala.

• Experience with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop.

• Hands-on with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data warehousing, streaming architectures, and performance optimization.

• Experience with Airflow or similar workflow/orchestration tools.

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure (data, storage, compute).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.

• Experience building or integrating RESTful APIs / GraphQL.

• Understanding of OAuth, JWT, authentication/authorization mechanisms.

Nice to Have

• Experience in building and securing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
• Knowledge of API security standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT, API gateways).
• Background in data analytics, user modeling, or personalization.
• Familiarity with data quality, observability, and data governance practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
